Two Year Photo Shoot

Olivia's 2nd birthday is right around the corner so I got together with the talented Angel Jepsen from Angel Jepsen Photography and some fabulous pictures came out of the photo shoot.

As you can see from my wedding save the date below I am obsessed with huge balloons. I love them. I think they look great everywhere. I wanted to incorporate a big balloon in Olivia's two year photos.  I got some inspiration from Bridal Musings to make a big balloon look more creative and it turned out great.

Valentine Leggings

Olivia and I went to visit my parents this weekend.  Since my Mom is retired, she is always trying some new craft.  She has projects everywhere in the house that she has started and even a few projects that she has completed! When I saw all of this, I got the urge to make something and be creative.  I started browsing the web for ideas and rummaging through my moms stuff. I found a lot of paint and buttons.  This gave me an idea to make Olivia leggings with hearts to wear for Valentines Day.  I got my inspiration from H&M with these leggings below.

I had a pair of leggings that were size 24 months. Since this was my first try and they still fit Olivia I decided to use them.  If you are using a new piece of clothing be sure and wash the item at least once before starting a project like this.

I tried the pants on Olivia and measured from the bottom of the hem to the middle of her kneecap using
a tape measure.

This measured 7 1/2 inches. I pinned it.
Next, I measured across the leg where I had placed the pin. This measured 4 inches so I pinned this at 2 inches.
I placed the stencil so the pins were in the center.
Using Tulip brand paint in Deep Red I painted the heart using the stencil on each knee of the leggings.
*Be sure to place heavy paper or cardboard on the inside of the legging so the fabric paint does not go through the fabric.
And Ta-Da!
Let the paint dry at least 4 hours before wearing.  Let the paint dry at least 72 hours before washing them.
I love the way these little leggings turned out.  The fabric paint wasn't going on as thick as I thought it would and I considered a second coat, but I love the unique way the paint looked.  The streaks in the paint give them a one of a kind look.  Next up may be a pair for myself. I will never be to old for cute leggings!
